Localism’s premise is that by reducing the scale of the economy, we can not only stop the rush toward social and ecological breakdown but restore damaged ecosystems and increase our own personal well-being. Michael Shuman is a localist. World Localization Day was created by
Helena Norbert Hodge who has done more than anyone to promote localism.
