Harvest Hands after school program began in 2008 as a response to the observation from our neighbors that the kids in our community simply needed something constructive to do after school. Our research confirmed that in the unsupervised hours between school and parents returning home from work, violent juvenile crime triples and children face the most danger of becoming victims of crime. In response to this voiced concern for the children and youth of the neighborhood, we responded by starting an after school program. Since 2008 we have served over 1,000 students and families in our programs
